Ah, what’s a few hundred votes here or there? February 25, 2006

It’s never a good sign when a report starts like this:

The internal logs of at least 40 Sequoia touch-screen voting machines reveal that votes were time and date-stamped as cast two weeks before the election, sometimes in the middle of the night.

Blackboxvoting.org sued the Palm Beach County Supervisor of elections to get the audit logs from the Sequoia electronic voting machines used in the 2004 elections. The results are, shall we say, not encouraging. And why did they have to sue in the first place? I’d think that those records should really be public.
